Conrad Eugene "Gene" Wells, 79, of Greers Ferry Arkansas, passed away peacefully, January 15, 2020, surrounded by his family at Baptist Health in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Gene Wells was born on January 29, 1940 in Little Rock to Conrad J. Wells and Billie (Burgess) Wells. He graduated from Conway High School in 1957. Gene earned a bachelor's degree from Arkansas State Teachers College. He went on to further his education, graduating from UAMS with a degree in Pharmacy and later earning his PharmD degree. Gene served in the Army National Guard while in college. He worked as a Pharmacist for Kroger and John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital, where he retired. He worked for the Arkansas Department of Health, retiring for a second time. Gene was a 32-degree Scottish Rite Freemasonry, S.J., U.S.A. He married Patricia Ray (Wells) of Little Rock, Arkansas in 1970. The couple had one daughter, Nicole Tarkington of North Little Rock.

Gene is survived by his daughter Nicole & Chris Tarkington of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Madelyn Tarkington, Mikayla Tarkington, and Hunter Tarkington; sister, Wanda Wells Bruce of Greenbrier; nieces, Lisa Page (Rusty) of Conway, Lana Stone (Kenny) of Choctaw; great nephews, Brady Mercer (Racheal) of Conway, and Seth Stone of Dallas, Texas; numerous other relatives and friends.

Gene is preceded in death by parents, Conrad J. Wells & Billie (Burgess) Wells; brother, James Wells; niece, Lori Bruce all of Greenbrier, AR.
