Obituary

Daniel (Danny) Joseph Dickerson (Choctaw) born March 5, 1954 to Effie Dickerson (Gardner of Monticello) & Roy Dickerson JR, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his mother & father; his oldest brother, Gerald Wayne Dickerson of Monticello; his oldest sister, Joyce Guenter of Yakima Washington; his baby sister, Brenda Terry of Hot Springs; his paternal grandmother & grandfather, Rosie Dickerson Stevenson & Roy Dickerson Sr; his maternal grandmother, Mary Bell Gardner of Monticello.

He leaves behind a beautiful group of children; Patricia (Darrel) Colorado; Dianna (Chris) Kirby; Spencer (Jennifer) Malvern; Danny (Tiffany) Wyoming; Paula (Wyoming)- many grandchildren & great grandchildren.
He is survived by his sisters, Jeannie De'vore (Hot Springs), Kathy Rabb( Eddie) Monticello, Jenny Wright (David) Rison, brother, Royce Dickerson (Monticello).
Danny served in the United States Army. He loved to travel and one never knew who's table he might be at for a morning cup of coffee. He found peace in his poems & writings and at one time was recognized nationally in his literature (poems) he wrote.
While many thought his vagabond/gypsy way of traveling was unseemly it is through this that his strength would flow down to his children. These very children who became very strong adults with families of their own- who would reach across the miles to form an unbreakable bond with each other; The very ones he would call upon to honor his last wishes with the little time he had left. He knew hell on earth- he knew God. He knew something was bigger than himself and he knew it was time to go. Thank you for those who prayed & supported the family. His traveling time has no time limits now- he is free.
