Gene Alfred Pohle, 86, of Benton, Arkansas passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023 with his wife and son at his bedside. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 11, 1937 to the late Alfred and Bernice Pohle.

Gene's family moved to Arkansas in 1946, where he was destined to meet a pretty young woman named Peggy from Mountainburg. Peggy knew a good man when she saw him, and proceeded to be the best wife a man could dream of for over 66 years.

Gene and Peggy spent the years working together, raising a family, and moving back and forth between Arkansas and Florida. They lived in Destin, Panama City and Navarre, where they made many dear friends over the years.

Gene is survived by his best friend and wife Peggy; son, Kevin (Tara) Pohle; brother, Floyd (Shirley) Pohle; sister, Darylene Boatwright; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Pohle; father, Alfred Pohle; stepmother, Julia Pohle; son, Dennis Pohle; daughter, Susan Seamon; son-in-law, Dale Seamon.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Gene will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4th, 2023 at the Mountainburg Presbyterian Church. Family and friends are invited to share stories and memories of Gene's life.
