Gunther Christiansen, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025. He was born on January 4, 1950, in Urbana, Iowa, to Carl and Beverly Christiansen.  Gunther met and married Linda Banwell in May of 2005. Together they celebrated 21 years of marriage, sharing a life filled with love, laughter, and happiness.

Gunther worked as a welder and retired in 2015. After retiring, he and Linda moved to Russellville, Arkansas, the home of Linda’s parents, where they came to deeply enjoy the friendliness and warmth of Southern life.  Gunther loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hiking, hunting, and fishing. He also found great joy in giving Bible readings in front of the congregation he loved. His faith brought him peace, happiness, and joy, and he enjoyed sharing his table and his time with neighbors and friends. After learning the truth through Bible study, Gunther was baptized on October 14, 2018.

Although he battled a serious illness, Gunther remained positive and rarely complained, showing quiet strength and grace throughout.  He will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda; his four daughters, Shelly, Tiffany, Tamara, and Angela; nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren;  his sister, Anna Maria.

Gunther loved both his family and his spiritual family and cherished being surrounded by them.  Gunther is survived by his wife, Linda Christiansen; his sister, Anna Maria of Iowa, along with many loving family members and friends.
