Obituary

India Sophia Eggleston died peacefully on the evening of February 27. Her mother and father were by her side. India was born on July 12, 2006, in El Dorado, Arkansas to Blythe and Michael Eggleston. She attended Fayetteville High School.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather Grady Gerald Eggleston, beloved uncle David Francis Butler Jr. and cousin Kristen Ray Butler.

India was full of love. She hugged people with both arms and squeezed like she meant it. She loved her family and all the parts of her life that made it wonderful. India was a neighborhood kid. As soon as she was old enough, she spent her time at her neighborhood park playground and the neighborhood pool. When she was little, she would leave with her sisters and neighborhood friends in the morning and return home in the evening smelling like a puppy. As she became a teenager, she still loved her neighborhood and took great joy in stopping to play with the younger children on her frequent walks. She deeply loved all her younger friends.

India loved to camp. She loved the expertly built fires her father built while camping at Devil's Den and Steel Creek. She loved walking tacos, s'mores and playing washers. Camping wasn't the only place outdoors she enjoyed. Family beach trips were filled with ice cream and hours of throwing the football with her dad and calling him "butter fingers" when he was the first to miss a pass.

She was a church kid. India spent hours each week at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in youth group.  When she was little, she would have one knee sock in place, and one bunched up at her ankles while sitting in the pew. Every summer meant a trip up Petit Jean Mountain to church camp at Camp Mitchell.

India loved everything that a 15-year-old little girl should love. Her life was full of pink, Taylor Swift, chocolate, bubble gum, Chick-fil-A, playing with her dog, pizza night on Fridays, Sunday afternoon dinners with her family on the deck, playing Wahoo with her mom and playing War and Go-Fish at Oma and Papa's. She loved her teachers, her sweet friends and her school. She loved a rowdy, full house when her large family would come over and fill her living room - especially for her birthday. She loved her birthday. She knew how much we loved her and loved celebrating her sweet, wonderful life.

She was tall. India had eyes that twinkled when she smiled, perfectly rosy cheeks, hands that still had a hint of childhood and long, blonde, wavy hair like a mermaid.

India is survived by her parents Blythe and Michael Eggleston; her sisters Fiona and Augusta Eggleston; her grandparents: Laurie and Dennis Clayton, Barbara Eggleston Hamilton and her husband Bill. Her great grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins loved her dearly.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 4 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.  In lieu of flowers, her family kindly asks that you consider donating to the St. Paul's Episcopal Youth Community that India loved so much.

Cremation services are under the direction of Cremation Services of Arkansas (501)313-5431.
