Obituary

JAMES MADISON BRYANT II, age 84, of Little Rock passed away on January 14, 2022.

Jim was born in Clarksville, Arkansas on June 27, 1937, to Leslie Edward Bryant and Marjorie Dowdy Bryant. He graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, TN.  He attended Washington and Lee University and graduated from Hendrix College. He then obtained his juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law. He began his practice of law with Eichenbaum, Scott and Miller in Little Rock. He was associated with several law firms throughout the years. He finished his career as counsel for Colton's Restaurant Group. Throughout his time in this job, he was blessed to have as his employer and friend Robert Fain.

Jim was a member of the Arkansas Bar Association for more than 50 years.

He was a Rotarian and a long-time member of St. James United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school for many years and was also a member of the choir.

He was a voracious reader and a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks. In his later years he was an avid watcher of MSNBC, and he loved his cats.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Betty Bryant Reynolds. He is survived by two daughters, Erin Bryant Jaros (John), and Lindsey Taylor Bryant, grandchildren Patrick Bryant Jaros and Katie Taylor Jaros, one sister Clarice Bryant Dykema of Chicago, and several nieces and nephews, as well as his dear friend of many years Anne Holcomb.
