James E. (Buddy) Cheshier, 88, of Maumelle, AR departed this life Friday, June 23rd 2023.  He was born October 19, 1934 during the Great Depression era in East Texas, the son of Alta and Thomas Frank Cheshier.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Margie Gatlin Cheshier, sister Barbara Arendt (William Eugene), stepson Mike Wells, as well as two grandchildren, two great grand children and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his sister Marge Miller-Casey.

He was a 1952 graduate of North Little Rock High School and a 1956 graduate of Ouachita Baptist University. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a Life Brokerage Consultant and Master General Agent in the insurance industry during his career. He was a devoted Christian family man who attended Pleasant Valley and Windsong Church of Christ. One of his favorite quotes was "What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." (Ralph Waldo Emerson).

In lieu of a funeral the family held a private memorial. Donations could be made to your favorite charity in his honor.  Cremation arrangments are under the direction of Cremation Services of Arkansas (501)313-5431
