Obituary

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, James Allen Conklin, 71, of Malvern, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by his loving family.Born in Malvern on September 12, 1954 to J.A. and Inez Conklin, James was a hard worker and dedicated family man, known for his kind heart and gift of gab. He was employed in maintenance for many years with Pactiv (formerly Amoco) and finished his working years at General Cable. He was a brilliant shade tree mechanic and delighted in tinkering around in his shop while blasting classic rock. He loved motorcycle rides and building trikes, but his true happy place was in his deer stand. Though he loved other outdoor activities like fishing and squirrel hunting, deer hunting was his true passion. He never missed a season until last year, when illness kept him from his beloved woods. Though his physical presence will be absent, his spirit will always be felt at camp.James is preceded in death by his mother, Inez Conklin; his father, J.A. Conklin; his big brother, William Ross; his big sister, Pat Wilson; nephews, Max Wilson and Roger Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Belinda; his daughter, Jodie (Shawn); son, Eric (Zeljka); stepdaughter, Tiffany;  stepson, Steven. Also left mourning his loss are his brother, Jerry (Linda); grandchildren, Destiny, Elijah, Vincent, and Ronin; nephews, Tommy,, James, and Jerry Jr; nieces, Darlene and Regina; sister-in-law, Vickie and her granddaughter, Spencer, and his many dearly cherished great nieces and nephews (his hunting buddies.)

A Memorial Service will be 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026  at Sweet Magnolia House in Malvern. Per James’ wishes, his ashes will be spread at deer camp to be reunited with his brother, William.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Cremation Services of Arkansas (501)313-5431.
