James Langrell
June 28, 1947 – November 6, 2025
James Langrell, a true cowboy through and through, rode his final trail on November 6, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer with his brother by his side.
Born on June 28, 1947, James lived life with grit, humor, and heart. He spent 7 years in the Army Reserve and many more years working for the railroad before retiring, but his real passion was the cowboy way of life. From riding bulls and breaking horses to hunting and butchering deer faster than anyone around, James embodied the spirit of the old West. He was happiest outdoors, swapping stories, and sharing a laugh to lift anyone's spirits. He is preceded in death by his parents, LaVerne Harris and Joe Langrell.
James is survived by his brother Marvin Langrell; two children, Gary Langrell and Aleah Franks; four grandchildren, Vincent Orton, Jayann Baumer, Ronnie Baumer and Eve Franks; and two great-grandchildren.
James will be remembered as a hardworking man with a big heart, a quick wit, and a love for life that left an impression on everyone he met. A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in White Hall, Arkansas, as we gather to send this cowboy off right.
