James Ashley Martin Miles of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Atlanta, Georgia, died suddenly of cardiac arrest on February 23, 2019, while running near his home in Hot Springs. James was born in Granada, Spain, on May 4, 1966. He is predeceased by his father Warren A. Miles and uncle John P. Miles. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Mary and John Kalas; siblings Heather and Michael; stepfamily; cousins and many beloved friends.
James (also known by friends as Miles and family by Martin) graduated from Hendrix College in Philosophy; studied at Oxford University in England; and recently graduated from National Park College in Nursing. James had worked in the fields of journalism with the Arkansas Democrat; restaurant management; as a media consultant in Atlanta; and most recently in the field of nursing.
James loved creativity; was an avid student of philosophy and history; and was a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins NFL team and the Manchester United English soccer team. James was gregarious, intelligent, and a helper to many. A good man.
A celebration is planned for May 4, 2019, in Hot Springs, AR.
