James Ross Newton, age 70 of Star City passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at St Vincent Hospital in Little Rock.  He was born on April 21, 1951 in Los Angles, California to Louise Cheryl Hemerlein and James Elbert Newton. Following many years in Grants Pass, OR Jim moved to Arkansas where he met his second wife, Wilma Meek.  Jim and Wilma loved being members in the British Motoring Club of Arkansas (BMCA) traveling throughout the state in their GT 6 Spitfire.  They enjoyed gathering with other BMCA members at the Lake Corvallis Yacht Club in Maumelle, Arkansas. Jim worked as a boilerman for Curtner-Dixon Lumber before retiring.  He was preceded in death by father, James Elbert Newton; mother, Louise Newton; stepfather, Aubrey Nash Jr.

He is survived by wife, Wilma Newton; children, Jason (Kessie Hinkle) Martin, Katrina Beck, Liz (Rick) Childs, Michael Polson; grandchildren, Curren Martin, Dax Beck, Chey Minchew, Blake Mizell, Zoey Polson, TJ Polson, John Braeden Polson; great grandchildren, Kimber Mizell and Jaxson Blankenship; sisters, Cheryl (Tom) Dewey, Robyn (Lorn) Anderson, Jennifer (Todd) South and Joyce Newton; ex wife, Yvonne Martin.

A memorial service will be held at Griffin Funeral Service.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Cremation Services of Arkansas (501)313-5431.
