James Madison Sawyer went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2019. Jim was born in Falls City, Nebraska on April 28, 1924. He was raised in Rawlins, Wyoming. In 1942, he joined the Army and served in WWII as a driver in reconnaissance missions then later a Mortar Gunner in the European Theater. In 1958, he met Martha and they were married on June 26, 1958. Jim went to work for Weyerhaeuser Pulp and Paper Mill, first in Kelso, Washington then transferred to Valiant, Oklahoma moving his family to Idabel, Oklahoma. After his retirement he moved to Maumelle, Arkansas.
Jim is survived by his children: Pamela (Dave), James, Mark, Paula (Mark) and grandchildren: Sarah, John (Megan), Chase and Tara and two great grandchildren.
Our father and grandfather will always be in our hearts and memories. We will see him again.
