Jerome Mayfield Burns age 74 passed away Monday, April 13, 2026 at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. He was born on May 25, 1951 in Tucker, Arkansas to Murtha Mayfield Phillips and Sam Burns. Jerome served his country in the United States Army. He was a strong fighter who enjoyed being around others. Jerome became a member of the St Marks Baptist Church when he was a young boy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murtha and Sam Burns; son, Jay Burns; brother, Carl Phillips.

Jerome is survived by three daughters, Sheronica Cooney and her husband, Kevin, Mary Anderson and Jemia Holt; two sons, Eric Burns and Edron Germone Banks; seven grandchildren, Zoe Cooney, Collin Anderson, Craig Anderson Jr, Courtney Anderson, Bemonza Redditta, Jaylynn Banks and Donavon Banks; cousins, Fred Smith and Doris Ervin Collins. 

A celebration of Jerome’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Cremation Services of Arkansas (501)313-5431.
