Obituary

Joel Brooks Dickinson, 65, of Fayetteville, AR passed away Oct 23, 2020 at Little Rock, AR. He was born Oct 5, 1955, in Oklahoma City, OK to Albert Stanley and Jodie M. (Simmons) Dickinson. He was a member of the American Legion, and was an avid fan of sci-fi movies and Star Trek. He also worked for the Veteran's Administration, and in IT for Dell, Inc. and Tek Systems.

He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his children, Parker C Dickinson and Kaitlin C. Dickinson, both of Fayetteville, AR; and Joel B. Dickinson Jr. of Louisville, KY; his mother of Springdale, AR; 4 brothers, Richard and Ronnie Dickinson of Texas, Tim (and Marci) Dickinson of Gentry, AR, and Alan Dickinson of Springdale, AR.
Joel was a graduate of 1973 Springdale High School, and joined the US Air Force upon graduation. He served 12 years in California, Okinawa, Japan, the Philippines, and Lubbock, TX, before moving back to Springdale. In May 2011, he graduated with honors from the Area of Homeland Security Emergency Management at NWACC in Springdale. He retired in 2017.
