John Daniel Mundell, 59, of Sherwood, died July 22, 2019, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Born December 23, 1959, in Terre Haute, IN, Mundell was the son of Patty (Lofton) Mundell of Terre Haute, IN, and the late James O. Mundell.

Mundell loved outdoor sports, especially cycling. As an active member of the River Valley Cycling Club in Fort Smith, Mundell made many friends and completed many races. He finished the Big Dam Bridge 100 five times and the Ride Across Indiana eight times. In addition to cycling, Mundell enjoyed hiking and completed two marathons in 2019: the Little Rock Marathon and Oklahoma City Marathon.

Mundell was a devout Christian, loved the Lord with all his heart, and regularly attended Southside Church of God 7th Day in Fort Smith. Operating as J&L Siding Specialists, Mundell was self-employed and specialized in installing vinyl siding.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Mundell of Sherwood; a stepdaughter, Sarah Friedman of Sherwood; two brothers, James A. Mundell and Mark Mundell, both of Terre Haute, IN; a sister-in-law, Crystal Yakley-Mundell of Terre Haute, IN; three nephews, Marcus Mundell, Zachary Mundell, and Kyle Mundell, all of Terre Haute, IN; one niece, Elizabeth Grace Mundell of Terre Haute, IN; six children, Jason Mundell, Kianna Mundell, and Vanessa Mundell, all of Fort Smith, Anthony Mundell of Oklahoma, and Christopher Mundell and Kaleb Mundell, both of Rogers; and four grandchildren, Jordyn, Daniel, Kaiden, and Kyrie.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. August 3, 2019, in the chapel (old sanctuary) at First Baptist Church, 1121 Main St., Van Buren, AR 72956.
