Dr Kevin Blake Seddens, 60, of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 5, 1964, Kevin graduated magna cum laude from The University of Memphis and graduated with highest honors from The University of Tennessee, Dental College. In addition to his achievements in academics, he played baseball for the University of Memphis Tigers.
A life richly lived in kindness and service, Kevin was extremely generous with his time, his wisdom, and his actions; both in his personal life and his dental practice.
A true man of God, Kevin was a member of First United Methodist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas. He loved FUMC and his church family, and enjoyed volunteering at church functions and working with the youth group.
He competed at the highest level in men's slow pitch softball for over 15 years and was part of 21 state champion teams; he received 12 state MVPs, 2 regional championships, and 2 regional MVPs.
An amazing athlete, Kevin played many sports. As with most ballplayers, he had a nickname, "The Kid" and is still known by it today. Kevin was a devoted gardener and spent many hours in his garden each year. He loved and cherished his cats and the joy they brought to his life.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Billy R Seddens.
Kevin is survived by his son, Christian Copeland; mother, Marcaleen Seddens; sister, Melissa Seddens; brother, Scott Seddens (Sandy); sister, Amy Seddens Templeton (Tony); uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life for Kevin on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at First United Methodist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 10 am, followed by a memorial service at 11 am. A second Celebration of Life will be held in Memphis, Tennessee at a later date.
Kevin will be remembered for his hilarious sense of humor and quick wit. His love and laughter were gifts to everyone who knew him. Every day we shared with him was a blessing from God.
