IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leona
Folck
February 24, 1926 – October 23, 2020
Leona "Pepper" Folck passed away peacefully with her family at her side on October 23, 2020. Pepper was born in Junction City, Kansas on February 24, 1926, where she met the love of her life Harold "Bud" Folck. They were married on January 1, 1950 and together raised their four beautiful daughters (Susie, Nancy, Linda, and Karen) in Halstead, Kansas. They moved to Toronto, Kansas in 1975 and lived there in the midst of Pepper's magnificent garden and enjoying Bud's equally magnificent fire pit and music collection until Bud passed in 2012. She then moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to live with her youngest daughter Karen. Throughout her life Pepper enjoyed her garden, her art, and her family. She had the biggest of all hearts, and was loved beyond description by all who knew her. In addition to Bud and those who raised her with all affection, she was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Susie.
Survivors include her daughters Nancy (Hereford, Arizona), Linda (Bill) Schaarschmidt (Danielsville, Pennsylvania), Karen (Mark) Smeltzer (Little Rock, Arkansas), her many grandchildren, two of whom (Ginger and Jacob Root) where with her when she passed, and her great grandchildren. She was very proud that before she left us she was able to vote in the presidential election. It is characteristic of her that even knowing her time was limited, she was thinking of others. And yes Pepper, we promise to take care of each other.
