Lori Lynn Johnson Day passed away Oct 31, 2026 from a sudden heart attack. Left to cherish her memory are JD Thornton who is the love of her life, her beloved sons Peyton Day and Zane Day, precious granddaughter Saylor, her favorite and only sister Marisa Johnson Yingling, and family Wil, Eli, Liam, Livi, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Lori was born December 14, 1967 in Warren, AR to Gene and Loritta Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, an aunt and uncle.
As a child, she played with her sister and cousins, grew up with a favorite cat and dog, performed in the school play, was on yearbook staff, and as a teenager “rode around” with friends on the weekends. She graduated from Hermitage High School in 1986, where she made lifelong friends. Lori was very artistic and creative and she loved music and reading. She attended SAU Tech in Camden and completed an Associate Degree in Graphic Design.
Shortly after, she married and was blessed with two sons 4 years apart. She fell in love with her babies and enjoyed watching them grow. She loved her sons unconditionally and was so proud of them.
As a typical artist, Lori didn’t work in her field but however went on to create numerous works of art including acrylic paintings, pen and pencil drawings, greeting cards, and even murals. She had more natural talent in her little finger than most people have in their whole body.
She worked in retail, took classes at UCA, then became a Medical Assistant for several years. She enjoyed her part in the medical field, meeting and caring for patients in the clinic. Toward the end of her mother’s life, she moved in to help take care of her. They both enjoyed those years together.
During that time Lori met her partner JD and they experienced life with one another for nearly 13 years. Together, they adopted 3 cats whom Lori loved like children, Tilly, Moussie, and Reggie.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Lori’s honor 2:00 p.m. Saturday Nov 7, 2026 at Epoch Church 10301 North Rodney Parham Suite E3 in Little Rock, AR. Please wear blue or green, or any color she told you she liked. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a cat or animal shelter or spay/neuter clinic in her name. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Cremation Services of Arkansas 501-313-5431.
