Matthew "Dale" McClendon, aged 76, of North Little Rock, passed at home on March 31, 2023. Dale made Sonora Drive his home for almost 50 years. Dale and Katy have lived happily on Sonora for 26 of those years proudly watching two generations of children grow and a third generation begin. Many memories were made at deer camp, the lake and around the kitchen table. Dale was happiest spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. No one cheered them on louder than he did. Their success was his success. Dale never met a stranger and took care of everyone around him, no matter the need. He was honest to a fault and never missed a chance to straighten you out but would always tell you he loved you and give you a great big hug. He will be forever missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew "Mac" and Maggie McClendon; brother, Henry "Tobbie" McClendon; and granddaughter, Annalissa McClendon.Dale is survived by his loving partner, Katy Chafin of the home; children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; Billy McClendon of North Little Rock; Matthew Dale McClendon "DJ", Tristan McClendon and Peyton McClendon of North Little Rock; Sandy McClendon (Matt Ferricher) and Teigan Ferricher of Sherwood; Sean McClendon, Audrey McClendon, Rileigh McClendon and Declan McClendon of North Little Rock; Carrie Brewton (Harlin) of Paris; Austin Brewton and Jackson Brewton of Paris; Hannah Wootton (Aaron) and Braxton Wootton of New Blaine; Landon Brewton of Paris; and Lori Edwards (Kyle), Katelyn Edwards and Brooklyn Edwards of Rose Bud; his sister, Judy Ross of North Little Rock; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and the countless number of lives he touched over the years.Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Cremation Services of Arkansas (501)313-5431.
