Mylinda Gail Blakey Sorensen, age 59, of Maumelle, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in her home on April 10, 2021.

She was born in Atlanta, Texas, on July 2, 1961, the daughter of David Blakey and Nola Mae Ing Blakey.  She was preceded in death by her mother, lovingly called "MeMaw".

Mylinda, known as Lindy, Aunt Lindy, Mom and Mimi, was loved by her children, her grandchildren, siblings and extended family and friends.  In her younger years she was a scholar and cheerleader in high-school and a top model.  She was a very creative person, always making something beautiful out of something broken.  She loved to be outside, enjoyed gardening, being at the lake and water skiing and just having fun with friends and family.  Mylinda loved fishing and taught her nieces and nephews how to fish and how to have a delicious fish fry.  She was compassionate and giving and she would give the shirt off her back to a stranger if they needed it.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mylinda is survived by her two daughters Felecia Tipton of Hurst, Texas and Hollie Ferebee of Maumelle, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Connor Blakey, Isabella "Izzy" Porter, Layla Akers and Marilyn Akers; her father and his wife, David and Jo Nell Blakey, "Papa and Nanny", of Shreveport, Louisiana; her siblings and step-siblings, Brenda Williams of Byrdstown, Tennessee, Dennis Blakey of Midville, Georgia, Bridgette Harris of Elm Grove, Louisiana, Buck Daniels of Yemassee, South Carolina, Sheila Thompson of Benton, Louisiana and Terri Williams of Shreveport, Louisiana; extended family; and many good friends.

A celebration in honor of Mylinda's life will be held; we are going on a cabin trip; we will share memories of times in our life with her.  Anyone that wants to join us in this celebration, know that you are welcome.  We will get in touch with family and friends when the arrangements are made for our celebration trip.  Cremation arrangements are under. the direction of Cremation Services of Arkansas (501)313-5431.
