Obituary

Rev. Nathaniel "Mano" Harris departed this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock, AR. He was known to family and friends as Mano. He was born in Tillar, AR on June 29,1946 to the late Willie B. and Sarah Harris. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. He was one of 13 children, 7 girls and 6 boys. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie B. Harris and Sarah Harris Gulley, brothers Rev. Leroy Harris, Sr., Willie J. Harris, Lavern Harris and James "Kelly" Harris. Sisters, Evangelist Louella Butler, Dorothy Barnes, Baby Sarah and Clovie Fountain, daughters Jan Harris, Felicia "Yogi" Nash and granddaughter Amanda Willis.

He was blessed with an amazing singing voice. He loved to sing  anytime and anywhere. He was well known for singing with several groups in Dumas, AR and surrounding areas. During his younger years, he and brothers Leroy and Willie J. would sing with the late Rev Curtis Rideout. He later became an ordained minister. After leaving home at an early age, he moved to Kansas City, MO and Chicago. He eventually moved back to Kansas City and stayed there until he returned to Little Rock in 2019.  He often attended Greater Second Baptist Church and later became a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church in Little Rock under the leadership of Pastor Milton Graham.

He loved the Lord, he loved to preach, sing, and fish. He also had a passion for trying to get as many people fed as possible, so he could often be found volunteering at food pantries.

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Belinda Harris of Kansas City, MO, a son Terry (Nichole) Harris of Kansas City, KS, daughters Tiffany and Taffney Senior of Little Rock,AR and Tamika Davis of Kansas City, MO, sisters Lucille "Shirley" Jones, Mildred "Sugar" Pitts of Little Rock, AR, Apostle Evelyn "Ann" Cross (Irvin) of Chicago, IL and brother David (D.C.) (Mary) Harris of Little Rock, AR, an aunt Erma Jean Harris of Chicago, IL, 24 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, his church family in Kansas City and Little Rock, his special friends Betty Williams and Fred Patton at Community Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO and Robert Butts of Little Rock.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021, at 10:00am at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1504 N. JP Wright Loop Road, Jacksonville, AR 72076.
