Obituary

Nell Cato Perkovich 90, of Little Rock died peacefully May 10,2019. She was born May 28, 1928 in Greenbrier Arkansas. Nell was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Perkovich, mother, father, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Nell was an avid sports fan. She graduated from Greenbrier High School where she excelled in all sports, especially basketball. She was named to the Arkansas State All state team as a senior and was offered a spot on the American "Redheads" pro basketball team.

Nell chose to attend business college in Memphis and began her modeling career working for Goldsmiths and Lowensteins. She met her husband John when he played professional baseball with the Memphis Chicks . Nell and John married and moved to Milwaukee where John began his career with Eastman Kodak company.

Nell represented Mrs. America as Mrs. Wisconsin in 1957. They then moved to Dallas where she continued her modeling career with Lester Melnicks.

The family took up bowling in Dallas and it was there Nell found her love for the game. She bowled in weekly leagues and participated in 24 National tournaments throughout the USA. She was an avid golfer in LR and was a member of the LR Women's Golf Association. A knee injury stopped her careers in those sports.

Nell retired from Dillard's in 2001 where she worked 18 years. She was in the top sales club for 15 of those years.

Nell is survived by her 3 daughters, Paget VanButsel of Little Rock, Lindsey( Donnie) Davis of Fayetteville, Alyson (Mark) Brittain of Bentonville Ar; 3 nieces, Kay Worley, Donna Reeves and Helen Cost; nephew, Jim Reynolds; 4 grandchildren, Jason Hriz ( Selena) Joseph Davis, Cody Davis and Madison Brittain; 2 great grandchildren, Landon Hriz and Blake Hriz whom she adored!

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 8 at 10 am @ Christ the King Catholic Church where she was a charter member.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Arkansas Hospice and Christ the King Catholic Church
