Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nikita Latrell Hiner Evans, who left this world far too soon. Nikita passed away suddenly, leaving behind a deep void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.Nikita was a free spirit in the truest sense — someone who found peace beneath open skies and joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors. She loved nature deeply, whether it was spending long days outside playing disc golf or simply soaking in the sun and fresh air. Her soul carried a lightness and warmth that drew people in, and her presence had a way of making life feel a little softer, a little brighter. She shared a special, unbreakable bond with her mother, who was not only her parent but her best friend. Their connection was something rare and beautiful. While her mother passed before her, there is comfort in imagining their reunion — together again, side by side.

Nikita is lovingly remembered by her partner, Ian Jackson; her siblings Shana Farrah and Steven Shoppach, Ryan Redden, Audra and Matt Lucas, and Nicholas and Haley Redden; her aunt and uncle Debbie and Don Walker, along with their son Michael Walker. She is also remembered by a wide circle of dear friends, including Treyy Evans, all of whom will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sandy Hiner and Ronald Redden, and her grandparents Buddy and Faye Hiner, Wayne Redden, and Rue Williams.Nikita’s life, though shorter than we wished, was filled with love, laughter, and moments that mattered. She taught those around her to appreciate the present, to find beauty in the world, and to love without hesitation.

A memorial service will be held at Ben Geren Park on May 9th, 2026 at 5pm where family and friends will gather to honor her life and share memories of the light she brought into this world. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that we spend time outdoors, breathe in the fresh air, and remember Nikita in the places she loved most. In her memory, donations may also be made to a recovery-focused foundation or to the American Liver Foundation in honor of her mother. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
