Paul Everett Hopper, 74, passed away in Little Rock on Saturday, January 6, 2018. He was born on September 8, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Paul Everett Hopper Sr. and Nadine Allen. Paul was a graduate of Jonesboro High School, Arkansas State University, where he enjoyed playing French horn in the band, and the University Of Arkansas School Of Law. Paul served as a captain in the United States Air Force, stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. After serving his country Paul practiced law in various parts of Northeast Arkansas. Following his retirement, Paul spent many years writing science fiction screenplays and went on to publish a book, Stories from the Universal Collector: Book One: The Timekeeper. Paul will be remembered for his great sense of humor, kindhearted spirit, and generosity.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Maradyth and Colin McKenzie of Little Rock; grandson, Connor Thomas McKenzie of Little Rock; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Vanessa Hopper of Rockford IL; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Robert Montgomery of Bono, Arkansas.
Memorial service details to come. Lasting memorials can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Arkansas Foodbank.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Arkansas
