Obituary

Roberta L. Bonham (74) of Jacksonville, AR peacefully passed away on March 7, 2024.

How do you describe the fabulous, beautiful shooting star called Roberta? There are not enough words in the universe. God gave Roberta a beautiful gift of being an artist. At the age of three she was given her first box of crayons and never looked back. She became an acclaimed artist through the years (artist name: RB McGrath) and we have her beautiful works of art to always remember her by. Roberta's unique personality, quirkiness, wonderful sense of humor, her gentle kindness for people and her love for art were all wrapped up in the paintings she created. Her paintings are at various places around the world and the USA, and the world is a much better and beautiful place because of them.

Roberta was a devout Catholic Christian and loved the Lord. There is a 100% certainty that she is in heaven sitting next to Leonardo da Vinci challenging him to a "paint off" to see who can paint the better Mona Lisa. Da Vinci has just met his match!! Her shooting star didn't flame out, it just became gloriously brighter! Along with her artistic accomplishments, Roberta was a hair stylist in Jacksonville, AR and served 4 years in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

Roberta's family express their heartfelt thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and hospital staff at the VA in Little Rock and UAMS who took care of her with the utmost kindness, love and respect. A special thank you to Dr. Hector Soriano Baron, Neurosurgeon at UAMS. You did a beautiful job on the spinal cord surgery. We were looking forward to Roberta picking up her paintbrush again, but her lungs just didn't want to cooperate with the game plan. We are eternally grateful to all of you.

Roberta is predeceased by father, Robert Bonham; two brothers, Harry and Mark Bonham. She is survived by mother, Lena Bonham of Jacksonville; brother, Walter (Kathey) Bonham of Washington state; sister, Anita Cross of NLR and many nieces and nephews.

Roberta's ashes will be taken back home to her place of birth in Branch, Newfoundland, Canada. A celebration of Roberta's life is in the planning stages and all of her friends and fans will be notified when plans are finalized.

Rest in peace Roberta. We love you and our hearts are breaking, but we know where you are and look forward to the day when we are all together again. To be absent of your body is to be in the arms of Jesus.
