Obituary

Rodney Martin Gardner, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away in August 2024 in Bentonville, Arkansas, at the age of 79. He was born on January 26, 1945, in Firestone, Colorado.  Rodney was the son of Henry and Aulsie Mae (Curtis) Gardner. He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, aboard the USS Mansfield.

Rodney had a deep affection for Calico Rock, Arkansas, which he proudly called home. He found joy and solace sitting by the creek, where he loved to relax and connect with nature. A devoted fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, he passionately supported his team through thick and thin. His love for animals was evident in his compassionate nature, as he embraced all creatures great and small.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Wayne Gardner. Rodney is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Davis, a son, Christopher Gardner and his wife, Karen; a daughter, Lea Puente and her husband, Mark; five grandchildren, Taylor Gardner and his wife, Krystal, Courtney Gardner, Zachary Puente, Joshua Puente, and Gabriel Puente; and his sister, Shirley Hensley.

Rodney will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, and the warmth he brought to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
