Rodney Lee Thigpen, age 69, passed away at his home in North Little Rock on October 25, 2025. He was born in Little Rock on May 1, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Myrtle Thigpen and brother, Dennis Thigpen.  He is survived by his wife, Helen Thigpen, daughter Alexandra Thigpen, step-daughter Marie Mashburn and her daughter, Kalyn.

Rodney loved and cared for his family more than anything. He helped care for his father after his stroke. Then took care of his mother for years while being a full time dad for his daughter. He really loved having adventures with Ally.
Rodney enjoyed many hobbies. He was a Razorback fan and listened to their games in all seasons. He was part of communities on Razorback message boards for a long time and made many friends with other fans. He also loved the St Louis Cardinals, watching NFL and listening to sports talk radio.

Rodney was very creative. He enjoyed creating images and videos to share. And his love of music was evident in much of his work. He also loved reading history books. He created a North Little Rock group to share old local pictures and stories with his many followers.
Rodney was passionate about sports and politics and was always ready to share his thoughts on all subjects. He loved talking to people. He made friends with people he encountered everywhere from grocery store lines to online. Rodney was a force of nature and many are feeling his absence. His family will be planning a memorial gathering in the future.
