Ruth Marie White Finch, born September 24, 1933, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She found joy in life’s simple treasures: working in her vegetable garden, bird watching, doing crossword puzzles with her morning coffee, and sharing old wise sayings that always seemed to fit the moment. She loved her animals dearly, even when she claimed to be fussing about them. She also enjoyed trips to the casino with her family, where laughter and togetherness were always part of the adventure. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Audra White of Russellville; her sister, Ann Moore and husband, Bob of Kentucky.

Alongside her husband, Ruth spent many years in the restaurant business, where her warm spirit and friendly nature helped her form countless lasting friendships. She never met a stranger, and many employees became lifelong friends through the years.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 73 years, Joe Finch, Sr. of Bigelow, Arkansas; her children, Joe Finch, Jr. and wife, Tricia of Little Rock, Lois Garner and husband, Don of Little Rock, Virginia Ward and husband, John of Monticello, Jay Finch and wife, Stacey of Maumelle; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; nephew, Mike Moore of Kentucky.

With special thanks to the care givers, nurses and administration and residents at the Lakes at Maumelle Rehabilitation and Nursing who cared for her daily. She was referred to as one of the Golden Girls. Thank you, Jim Rivera, for showing the love and care you provided each day. You were very special to Mom.

Thank you to all the Gentiva Hospice nurses and care givers for their care of Mom as well. Thank you, Chaplain Kathy, for your prayers and words of encouragement; it meant more than you will know. Ruth will be dearly missed, but her love, lessons, and example will live in the hearts of all who knew her.
