IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shelley Jean
Turner
May 21, 1968 – November 22, 2023
Shelley Jean Turner passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas on November 22, 2023, from complications of a seizure at the age of 55. Shelley was born May 21, 1968, in Norman, Oklahoma to Jerry and Sue Turner.
Shelley graduated from Norman High School. Until her illness, she worked at the University of Oklahoma at a job that she loved for 10 years.
Shelley was a joy of life with a smile and contagious laugh. Shelley never met a stranger and was always positive, no matter what she was going through. She enjoyed helping others, often served the homeless, and was always willing to help anyone who needed it.
If Shelley's daughters could describe her in one word, her oldest, Sofia Marquez, 19, would say, "Accepting". "Our mom was the most accepting person I knew. She accepted me and my little sister like no other. I couldn't describe the amount of acceptance she gave to us, and that's just how she was. She was accepting of anyone and everyone, and that acceptance helped me and my sister immensely.
We are eternally grateful." Shelley's youngest, Seleste Marquez, 14, would describe her mom as Influential. "My momma was and forever will be influential. She always helped me to grow, learn acceptance, see the beauty of helping others, and taught me the importance of loving myself. My mami has influenced so much love and happiness in my life, and in anyone around her."
Shelley is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Turner and mother, Carolyn Sue Schneringer.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sofia Marquez and Seleste Marquez, and her beloved pets, Sushi and Shortie. Shelley is also survived by her former husband, Samuel Marquez, stepmom and best friend Betty Turner, stepdad Jim Schneringer, brother Scott Turner, brother Brian Schneringer and wife Jamie Schneringer, stepsister Rhonda Hill and husband John Hill, and stepsister Renee Bennett, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many more family members and dear friends that she loved.
She touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Aurora of Little Rock Arkansas for their care for Shelley and the family during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Norman Care-A-Vans. Cremation arrangement are under the direction of Cremation Services of Arkansas (501)313-5431.
