Susan Antoinette Amick, 84, of Little Rock, was taken from us on March 17, 2024. Susan was born on September 4, 1939 in Hot Springs to John and Delphia (Dolly) Hoopes who both preceded her in death, along with her younger brother, Johnny. She also had a strong bond with her maternal grandmother, Alta (Biggy) James, and her aunt Zelma Hoopes affectionately known as Buddy.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Roger Amick, MD; her devoted son, Ross Musumeci, MD; her adoring daughter, Christy Drangula; her grandchildren, Ryan Musumeci, Toni Drangula, and Tyler Drangula.

Susan grew up in Hot Springs and Las Vegas, Nevada. She attended the University of Oklahoma and in later years re-entered school to become an RN and psych nurse. She mentored and helped many people throughout her career. First helping Vietnam Veterans suffering from PTSD at the John McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital, then working with troubled youth going through the court system at Doctors Hospital in Little Rock. Susan possessed an amazing ability to provide comfort, guidance and strength to people enduring hardships in life. This was most evident in her career and years mentoring in the AA community. She was known by her family and friends as a ray of sunshine due to her loving & warm nature. To know Susan was to love her. She possessed a unique blend of beauty, style, poise and unwavering strength. She touched the lives of many people and those fortunate to have known her well, will miss her radiant smile, infectious laugh, and genuinely unique presence. Susan was a fierce mah-jonng player, and so enjoyed playing the game with her close-knit group of girlfriends and sharing life's journey with them, right up till the very end. She loved summer vacations by the beach with her family, and time spent with her loving husband of 30 years, Roger, traveling the world or just being together. Her children and grandchildren adored her and know that Christmas will never be the same, Susan had a knack for making the holidays truly magical…a word that describes Susan herself.
