IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Patrick
Davis
May 13, 1952 – April 16, 2021
Thomas Patrick Davis, age 68, died peacefully in his home April 16, 2021. Tom was born in Garland, Texas, in 1952.
His family moved to Little Rock when he was a young boy. Growing up, he attended Holy Souls and Catholic High. He went on to earn his
degree in Civil Engineering at Vanderbilt University, graduating with honors, then spending a year studying in Denmark; he returned to Little Rock, where he lived the remainder of his life. From a very early age, Tom showed great artistic talent in many areas. He often spent hours
sitting on the floor surrounded by a pile of Legos, constructing small scale cities, mansions, and buildings. He attended classes at the Little Rock Art Center when young. Tom loved to paint, and he had a deep understanding of color theory, developing a skill for mixing paint
colors early on. Many of his paintings are in his home, as well as homes of friends. Tom was also an accomplished piano player, having an entertaining flair all his own when he sat down to play. Tom loved antiques, especially those from the Victorian era; he took pleasure in relating the history of antique pieces that his partner and he collected over the years to various groups that they welcomed into their home. Showing and relating the story behind the Victorian death portrait which hangs in the parlor was just one of Tom's favorite parts of a tour.
Preserving the history and architecture of homes and buildings in Little Rock was one of Tom's greatest passions; he had a strong interest in the Quapaw Quarter Association and Mt. Holly Cemetery. A family member says, "One received a history lesson while motoring through the
streets of Little Rock, as Tom loved to point out the architectural interests of so many homes and buildings."
He was preceded in death by his partner, Larry Therrell.
Arrangements are made with Cremation Services of Arkansas. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 6 at Mt. Holly
Cemetery. Remembrances of Tom may be donated to Mt. Holly Cemetery.
